2-Day Mae Ping River Kayaking Adventure From Chiang mai

Kayaking for two days is the ideal way to fully immerse oneself in the tranquil river life of northern Thailand. After a short hour-and-a-half drive, we reach the northern part of the Chiang Dao Valley, where the Ping River awaits us. This creek-like waterway offers a delightful and fascinating journey downstream, passing through lush farm fields and dense jungles. The only interruption to our leisurely pace is a delicious lunch served on the riverbank. After covering 17 km, we arrive in the main Chiang Dao valley in the late afternoon and retire for the night at a cozy local guest house. On day two, we begin with a hearty breakfast and the option to hike to the nearby Chiang Dao Cave for an hour. Once we return to the river, we are greeted by the magnificent sight of the Chiang Dao mountain towering over the picturesque valley. With every bend in the river, the mountain reveals a new perspective, creating a captivating focus as we drift by. Our 18 km journey on the Mae Ping River takes us across the valley, providing breathtaking views of the mountain range and a glimpse into local farm life. By late afternoon, we complete the final leg of our trip at the southern end of the valley.
